I am having quite the interesting experience, with a relationship that started in late 2004. Many issues arising and they are complex, to say the least.
Even more interesting - Exes! Out of the blue, an ex sent a connection request on a social media platform a few days ago. Not having seen this person in nearly 30 years, it was quite unexpected.
I asked the Tarot what this contact was about and pulled the 9 of Wands. Interesting.
I think of retrogrades as a "rewind". Back in my day we had cassette tapes and when my kids were little, VHS tapes. You could rewind to your favorite part of the movied. I would rewind my favorite songs on the cassette over and over.
In retrogrades we can rewind back to a specific time and "re-listen" or "re-watch" to see if we missed anything. I remember watching the Harry Potter movies with my kids at least 100x times and each time always saw something that I'd missed the first 100x.
I think they are a gift from the Universe to help us either get it right this time or get it even better, if we are paying attention.

Thanks for pointing out that retrogrades aren't necessarily bad. It took me awhile to realize my computer wasn't going to crash every time Mercury went retrograde. I still back everything up, though, including all the photos on my phone. Seems like half the sky is retrograde this year.
